Rostock INT, Hathea wins the group!
Off we went to Rostock, Germany, where we hoped to achieve some nice results for Genghis and Hathea. But little did we know of what fantastic results there were to come!!! The last time we were in Rostock was in 2009 where Gemma won the group. A result we thougth would be impossible to match!!
In the breed ring Genghis was best male and thereby finsihed up his VDH champion title! Hathea, just turned 16 months, was best female and had to compete with Genghis for the BOB-win. And our little Hathea showed herself beautifully, and was elected Best of Breed!!!
Wauw, what a thrill!!!
In the group ring Anita Gielisse, Holland, was to judge. Anita Gielisse, herself a famous sighthound breeder, is also the sister to the late Jennifer Gielisse ("Il Piccolo Azzuro"). Jennifer was for decades top breeder of Italian Greyhounds, and her IG´s probably have won far more World and European winner titles than any other breeder in the world. Jennifer tragicly died far too young and the world of IG´s lost a real capacity. Jennifer was always willing to share her enourmus knowledge generously with others and for us the show ring at the World/European Dog Shows will never be the same.
Needless to say, that we were most excited to show Hathea for Anita Gielisse in the group!! And Hathea showed herself wonderfully and she actually WON the group!!!!
